Stair Deck Planter

This project included a stair replacement, a backyard deck, and a planter.

The existing concrete stair was pulling away from the house and wasn’t flashed well, so it was directing water toward the wall.  It was also built right on top of the original tight line to side sewer connection.  That concrete piping was crushed under the weight of the concrete stair, and may have caused the footings to be undermined.

This stair is as small as we could make it, since it was encroaching on the backyard setback and the side yard setback.  The stair is approximately 33″ wide, and the stairs are a comfortable 7″ rise to 11″ run.
